KOMTAR and Prangin Mall Penang are both meant to target the middle and low class. KOMTAR stands for Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak. It is one of the most (if not the most) iconic landmark and also the tallest building in Penang, dominating the island’s skyline. KOMTAR is connected to Prangin Mall, a shopping mall in Penang built to target the lower and middle class. You may not be able to find high-end luxury brands here, but KOMTAR and Prangin Mall may have retail stores that offer much better deals and offer some of those great value for money goods.

UPDATE: *opinion* The place is starting to lose its appeal among locals. If you’re looking to visit a happening place to do some window shopping, we’d advise you maybe to look elsewhere.

However, Bukit Jambul Complex Penang is one of those niche Penang shopping malls for the locals especially. It targets more on the lower middle class that are keen in getting the best electronic device deals in Penang.
